Last week, I went out for dinner and drinks with my mom. She asked the bartender what special drinks they had, since they always have creative fruity drinks. He told us he infused vodkas with fruit, one with strawberries and one with pineapples and strawberries. We tried both mixed with club soda and really enjoyed them. I am not a fan of bottled flavored vodka, but this has a natural fruit taste and no artificial sweeteners.
I was eager to try to make it at home. I could not believe how simple it was to make. First, I cut up pineapple and strawberries and put them in a tomato sauce jar. Next, I poured regular vodka into the jar. I sealed the jar and placed it in a dark place for about 3 days. After the three days past, I strained the vodka into a bowl. I separated the fruit into another bowl (vodka soaked fruit, perfect for a party). I put the vodka back into the jar for now, but planning on making a cocktail pitcher for Sunday!
Great one! Could the left over fruits be added in a punch? What do you think?
