Luxe Look for Less

Forever 21

Can you believe this necklace was $12?  This necklace has an antique gold finish and clear and yellow crystals.  Styled above dressed down with this laid back airport outfit.  This necklace is versatile and can go from day to night.  It adds a little sparkle to any outfit.  I love costume jewelry so much and once in a while a cheap find can be fun to wear!

Vintage Tuesdays

My great-grandmother's fan mirror and grandmother's 1960s necklace

Necklace worn doubled
Essie: Peach Daquiri

The fan mirror was given to me last summer when we sold my great-grandmother's house.  I always thought it was such a cool piece.  The details on it look as if they were hand carved.  It dates back to the 1940s.  When I first picked it up I could not believe how heavy it was!

This orange bead and white pearl necklace belonged to my grandma.  She gave it to me with my birthday gifts in October.  This piece is one of my favorites because it resembles today's costume jewelry, but has the memories of my grandma.  I can't wait to wear it with this seasons's bright orange pieces!  This mirror and necklace are much more than unique, but sentimental to me.   I feel lucky to have them.

Do you have any family heirlooms or vintage pieces that you cherish?

Rediscovered

I shopped my closet and rediscovered this bright blue patent leather tote bag from a few years back.  Don't you love finding things buried in your closet?
Jcrew

This blue shopper tote dresses up your daily routine.  This carryall silhouette in a saturated, jewel-toned color work as the perfect compliment to anyone's busy lifestyle.  Styled here with black skinny denim and a tweed multi-color BCBG blazer this bag can be used with just about any look.

If you are leery about wearing bright colors, a new bright tote might be the perfect solution to incorporate color into your look!

I also love this bag because it fits my ipad, work papers, has pockets for my phone and keys, and room to spare.

Olivia Palermo Inspiration

Olivia Palermo

So many girls always says, “That’s not me, I can’t wear that”.  I wanted to showcase Olivia Palermo’s variety of styles to show that you can pull off a fur jacket one day, military look the next, and floral pants after that.  Fashion is a mix of mood, trend, and what you love.  I just wanted to remind you all that.

I have loved Olivia Palermo’s style since the she was on TV show The City in 2009. She always seems to pull off an effortless elegance while wearing any trend. Since then she has been on covers magazines and seen spotted in tabloids dressed impeccably.

I want to show Olivia’s style to inspire everyone that you can wear anything you love and should not be afraid to try new things.

Black, White, and Flowers

Free People, Tory Burch, Aqua Earrings

Handmade neon pink Mexican bracelet, Juicy Couture Watch, Jcrew cocktail ring
 Vintage Parisian Handbag

Lace and Flower Detail

I wanted to make sure to incorporate my vintage item of the week in this post.  I bought this bag at a vintage store near Spitafields market in London last April.  I was getting accustomed to blogger in Spanish and did not post on Vintage Tuesday.

This dress is a subtle combination of geometric shapes, lace, flowers, puffy sleeves, and a black and white contrast.  The colors of this dress makes it so versatile and the puffy sleeves were so much fun to dance in.  I wore this outfit to dinner on Kevin's last night in Mexico to La Paricos.

Brights & Stripes

Dress: French Connection ToyWatch Sandals: Tory Burch (not in photo)

I am loving brights and stripes for this spring and made sure I packed them.  I decided to keep all my usual accessories at a minimum.  This dress is the statement piece of this outfit.  The bright papaya, citron, and blue colors are brighter in person.  I can't wait to wear more brights and stripes once the weather gets warmer at home.  For now I am really enjoying the beautiful scenery and weather in Mexico.

Keeping the Winter Blahs Away

Head to toe Jcrew, Necklace: StyleMint

Wearing brights keeps the winter blahs away!  Cords have become my ultimate go-to this winter.  Reason 1: I can wear them to work
Reason 2: They come in so many fun colors
Reason 3: They are warm and comfortable
I know redish pink cords is a very preppy look, but dressing preppy is my comfort zone.  I guess I can blame that on working at Jcrew for three years.  I twisted this preppy look with unexpected leopard flats and my chain necklace.

NY Fashion Week Recap

I know it seems early to be talking about Fall 2012 Fashion, but I wanted to share some of my favorite runways trends.  I wanted to share some of my favorite photos from Kate Spade, Rachel Zoe, and Jason Wu.

Fall 2012 trendy staples include oxblood color, military inspired outerwear, wide leg pants, chunky peplum cardigans, lots of fur, and head to toe prints.

Luxe Look for Less

If you can't already tell I am obsessed with shoes and accessories.  This luxe look for less is a great pair of braided gold wedges.  They look just like these Stuart Weitzman wedges for $298, but for much less!  I found them in Target for $25.  I am so impressed with Target lately.  I plan to wear them in Mexico this weekend.  They are a classic easy-to-wear look.

Vintage Tuesdays

My love for vintage jewelry began with my mom taking me to antique shops as a little girl.  Since then I continue to acquire unique pieces whenever I can.  This gold and purple heart necklace I found at Portobello Market in London last spring.  I thought I would showcase it for Valentine's Day.

Gorgeous flowers from my great boyfriend :)
Cheerful coffee cup

Hope you have a Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Valentine's Night Out Inspired by Prague

Valentine's Night Out

Sparkly top, $330
Faux fur cape, £29
Skinny fit jeans, $205
Tory Burch leather shoes, $195
Pour La Victoire high heel shoes, $275
Vince Camuto gold clutch bag, $148
Carolee LUX sparkle jewelry, $125

All of these pieces shout GLAM but are perfect for a Valentine's Night Out.  If your Valentine's plans include a night out with your bf or a girls night out these statement pieces will work either way and can be paired together or separate.  This pink sequin top under the fur cape is my favorite pick for a Valentine's dinner.  I have a very similar outfit and plan to wear it!

The image to the left is of the astronomical clock in Prague.  I was there last year for Valentine's Weekend and have been reminiscing about the trip.  I would do just about anything to go back to London and be able to travel as much as I did.  I really appreciate all the places I saw, now that I have to go to work everyday.  Prague is one of my favorite cities.  It has a medieval and majestic vibe that makes it unlike most tourist spots.  My favorite memories include walking over the Charles bridge, climbing up to the largest medieval castle, and the Clock Tower pub crawl.  The snow today makes me reminisce about walking around Prague in the snow snapping pictures and wearing my furry hat!
