Little White Dress

I've been searching for a white dress since last summer and finally found one.  It has a touch of bohemian, which is not usually my style, but I love long sleeved dresses!  I paired it with wood stacked wedges (sorry you can't see them in the photos).  The lace on the arms, top, and bottom add the perfect amount of detail without overdoing it.  Added bonus this dress came with the slip (I always worry about white being see through) and belt to cinch the waist.  I plan to style it with a bright colored belt and clutch next time.

Luxe Look for Less

I have been wanting a CC Skye screw bracelet now for a while now.  This Poshlocket bracelet is a luxe look for less of the CC Skye or Tory Burch bracelets.  With trendy costume jewelry I don't like to spend a lot, unless I am certain I will wear the piece all the time.

Mine was in the mail yesterday when I got home from the long weekend.  I can't wait to wear it.  Below is Kim Kardashian wearing the CC skye version.

Weekend Snaps

Proof they swam across the lagoon!
The girls before the bar

This was truly an amazing Memoral Day weekend.  The weather was absolutely perfect.  We spent our days in the sun laying by the pool and nights up partying with friends.  We did a lot of bbq-ing, kayaking, and I even drove a jet ski (legally for the first time).  I'm going to need to get a new waterproof camera for summer.  I think every weekend should be a three day weekend!  This weekend was the perfect summer kick-off.  How was your holiday weekend?

Summer Bucket List

Since today is the start of Memorial Day weekend and MDW marks the official start of summer, I thought I'd put together a bucket list for this summer.  I always plan to do things and unless I put them on paper never get around to everything.

1. Take 12 master's credits
2. Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge
3. Make homemade pasta
4. Go to the top of the Empire State Building
5. Cocktail cruise on the Hudson River
6. Go on a spontaneous weekend getaway to somewhere I've never been
7. Take a cooking class
8. Tour Ground Zero
9. Run a half marathon
10. Start a scrap book

Bright Beach

Since tomorrow is the beginning of Memorial Day Weekend, I thought I'd share some bright beachwear.  My favorite item is this C. Wonder pink beach tote with bamboo handle.  For those of you that don't know C. Wonder was actually started by Tory Burch's ex-husband.  Also, the stripe sweater would be perfect to throw on for a chilly night or afternoon by the beach.

Luxe Look for Less - Arm Candy

These bracelets above are a luxe look for less version of the ones from J.Crew below.

My fascination with bracelets has been growing.  Arm candy has been a popular trend for a while now.  My love for it has been slowly growing, I usually stick to layering a few bracelets at a time.  Apparently, I've been wearing a lot more than usual since my guy noticed, and let's be serious it takes a while for guys to pick up things like that.  He even joked the other day asking if I was going to have them go to my elbow!

Over the weekend, my friend Macey was wearing a bracelet (like the blue one above) and told me she got hers at Target. I went yesterday and bought some colorful, inexpensive ones to mix with my other bracelets.  I want to thank Macey for letting me know about this awesome deal so I could share it with you :)

If you don't have a Target in your area, I also saw similar ones at Mango.

Vintage Beaded Sequin Clutch

A bag that traditionally would be used for special occassions, I have recently used as a night time clutch.  The light pink beading and sequin details make this bag so unique and special.  I love how it looks against this skirt.  Instead of opting to buy a pastel bag, I found this one in my closet and hope to use it more often.

Weekend Snaps

Nicholas's First Yankee Game!
9th Ave Food Festival
NYC Food Festival-- I would buy nail polish haha

Happy Birthday Michelle!

On Friday, Kevin and I took my little brother to his first Yankee game.  We had a blast and they won 4-0!  On Saturday, I went to Nicholas's baseball game and watched him score a run.  I also spend the afternoon with my friend Macey at the 9th Ave Food Festival in NYC followed by birthday celebrations for my friend Michelle.  Sunday, I went to breakfast with Macey on the water and spent the afternoon enjoying the beautiful weather with Kev.  I tried out some new healthy recipes and even made it to the gym!

I've become a lot more daring lately and have been embracing neon.  My yellow bubble necklace is my favorite piece lately and I've been wearing it with everything (twice just this weekend).  I painted my nails neon pink today and Macey even convinced me to wear neon pink lipstick!  Sometimes all you need is a good friend to encourage you to try something new.

Shenae Grime's Inspiration

You may recognize her from the CW's hit TV series 90210 or as a guest star on E's Fashion Police.  Shenae Grime's style in real life is much better than her frequently seen bohemian chic looks on 90210.  She mixes classic pieces with vintage to make looks her own, wears loose fitting garments, and always has a statement piece in every outfit. She is not afraid to test out a new trend, but I love her way of not overdoing it.  On last weeks episode of Fashion Police, she let Joan Rivers raid her closet.  She shared the inside scoop that she invests in a few statement pieces, but also enjoys shopping at Zara, H&M, Forever 21, and vintage stores. This made me love her style even more!  Shenae is adorable, funny, and also aspires to be a fashion editor.

Green and Floral

Old Navy top, J.Crew skirt, Forever 21 Necklace, Michael Kors flat-forms
me + courtney

This shirt was part of Deal of the Week (here) as was this necklace (here).  I love the subtle floral pattern of this skirt.  Green and pink are my favorite colors and this skirt has them both! This outfit is the perfect example of a cute outfit that does not have to cost too much.  This casual spring look I wore when we first arrived at the Fontaine Bleau.  The hotel is beautiful and has a 1950s glamour meets new age feel.

I got a lot of use out of my flatforms this weekend :)

Weekend Snaps - Miami and Graduation

The Fontaine Bleau
Room Service

He did it!
Celebrating!

So proud of him!!

I could wake up to this every morning!
Ne-yo concert view from our balcony
The end of my frequent Florida visits has finally come.  Kevin graduated from college and we celebrated in Miami with his family.  We stayed at the Fontaine Bleau and had an amazing time.  Yesterday, we packed up and said goodbye to his apartment.  I am so excited for him to be moving back to NJ!  As one chapter of our life closes another opens.

Also, yesterday marked the first day of my summer classes.  This is going to be a busy summer, but I'm ready to be progressing in my master's program.

DIY Glitter Sole Heels

I have become much more crafty since I started working as a preschool teacher.  I read another blog about how to do this and had to try it and share my tips.  Once I bought the mod podge, I instantly reminisced about being in Girl Scouts using it to make a collage on a jewelry box.

Materials
Pair of heels         Masking tape
Glitter               Mod podge
Paint brush       Paper plate
                      Shoe box

First, I took an old pair of heels from my closet.  I would recommend trying it first on an older pair of shoes, until you get the hang of it.

Then, carefully tape the sides of the shoe along where you plan to glitter.  The more precise you are with the tape the better it will look.
The site I read recommended mixing the modge podge and glitter together.  I found that by doing this it got too clumpy and messy.
I recommend mod podging the entire bottom then sprinkling with glitter.  Then, tapping off the excess glitter.  I did this inside my classroom glitter box, but you could use a shoe box or plastic box at home.  I repeated this process three times to make sure it was sealed.
The next day, I applied a final coat of mod podge as a sealer.  (Don't worry) The mod podge dries clear.

The final product turned out very well!  The process was very simple and I love how they look.  The glitter adds a special touch to a plain pair of black pumps.  These would be perfect to wear for a fun night out, prom, or wedding.
